Fabric Color matching
June 16, 2015 on 1:47 pm | In Fabric Color and Dyeing | No CommentsColor is a science & color must be informed in a scientific way when told to dye a fabric
Few facts about colors
-Color when seen in difference devices, show differently depending upon device color setting, resolution etc
-Color may show differently when the light in which it is seen is different like tube light or day light.
-When you say 1 tone lighter, it might be 2 tone lighter for me or my dyer & different meaning for another person. It may have a different meaning to your customer. It is very difficult to measure & there always remains some room for confusion
As dyeing of fabric is lengthy process & involves cost, color must be informed in a scientific way for fabric dyeing like
1) Pantone no. as seen physically & not on computer or mobile device
2) By giving fabric cutting for matching
3) As far as possible, please inform light source in which fabric matching will be seen
For larger quantities orders, getting developed lab-dips (small fabric cutting) in exact color is a good idea.
